Hastings Couple Celebrates Same-Sex Marriage Ruling

Posted: 03/02/2015 - Monday was a day of celebration for one Hastings couple. After being engaged for nearly a year, they are counting down the days to March 9th when a federal judge's lift of the state's same-sex marriage ban will take effect.

Winner Takes All Advances in the Legislature

Updated: 6:57 AM - After days of filibustering, the state legislature voted to advance the winner takes all bill. LB 10 would change the way electoral votes are awarded in presidential elections. Under current law, two of Nebraska's five electoral votes are awarded to the most popular candidate statewide. The other three are divided up and given based on district majority vote.

Posted: 02/28/2015 - In District Basketball play, both the Hastings Tigers and Lexington Minutemen won today and move onto the ClassB-5 district semi-finals on Monday. The Hastings Lady Broncos fell to Concordia in the GPAC tourament but will still likely advance to the NAIA National Tournament field of 32 at Sioux City, Iowa March 11-17.

Many of the favorites are heading to state such as St,.Cecilia, Sutton, Kearney Catholic and the Hastings Tigers.. The state girls basketball tournament starts Thursday with the field of 48 quarterfinals. The semi finals are Friday and the championship matches are Saturday March 6th at the Pinnacle Bank Arena
