Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Connect With Me

Taylor Pannell joined the Nebraska Weather Network in June 2015 as the weather producer and fill in meteorologist.

Taylor's job is to identify the "weather story of the day" and find creative ways for our meteorologists, producers, reporters and anchors to display that information in newscasts so that it's easy and memorable for viewers.

Taylor is a native of central Arkansas. Growing up in the south gave him exposure to all kinds of different weather. During the busiest year on record for tornadoes in Arkansas, he got to experience the devastation first hand. On January 21st, 1999 Taylor was two blocks away from an F3 tornado that took out churches, local schools and many homes.

Taylor received his degree in broadcast journalism from Arkansas State University and is studying broadcast meteorology at Mississippi State University. He interned at Little Rock's KTHV where he began to develop the skills necessary to cover weather.

After his internship, Taylor spent the next year forecasting the weather for ASU-TV, the local university TV station. During his time at ASU-TV, Taylor covered severe weather, flooding, and a winter storm that brought inches of snow, sleet and freezing rain into the region. He also acted as the stations sports producer and anchored the sports show "Red Wolf Roundtable."

When he is not forecasting the weather or spending time with his fiancé, Taylor enjoys laying in the hammock and playing a round of golf.

Taylor is a member of the American Meteorological Society, National Weather Service and he is Skywarn Certified.
