America in transition | Obama meeting with Trump

WASHINGTON, D.C. The world is watching the transition of power as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to lead our nation.

Trump visited the White House Thursday for his first ever meeting with President Obama. The leaders delivered a message of unity.

“We really, we discussed a lot of different situations, some wonderful and some difficulties,” said Trump.

Trump called his Oval Office meeting with Obama a great honor. The meeting lasted nearly an hour and a half.

“I very much look forward to dealing with the President in the future, including counsel,” said Trump.

Obama said his number one priority in the next few months will be a smooth transition of power, saying he wants to do everything he can to help Trump succeed.

“I believe that it is important for all of us, regardless of party and regardless of political preferences, to now come together, work together, to deal with the many challenges that we face,” said Obama.

While the animosity between Trump and Obama appears resolved, outside the White House protestors chanted “love trumps hate.”

The question now - will Trump govern the same way he campaigned or will we continue see this new side of our next president?
