GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Getting in a good, wholesome and healthy meal is essential every day of the year, and HyVee dietitian Tara Neighbors put together recipes that are easy, inexpensive and good for your heart.

Avocado Hummus

All you need:
2 Avocados
1 Can chickpeas
1 Tbsp cilantro
2 Tbsp lime juice
1 Tbsp red pepper flakes
3 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp cumin

All you do:
1. Combine avocado and chickpeas in food processor
2. Blend on medium until smooth
3. Add cilantro, lime juice, red pepper flakes, olive oil, and cumin blend together until mixed together

Southwest Chicken dip

All you need:
2 Cups chicken
1 can black beans
1 can corn
1 tsp garlic powder
1 bunch green onion
1 tsp onion powder
2 roma tomatoes
1 tsp chili powder
1 ½ plain Greek yogurt
1 red pepper, chopped

All you do:
1. Combine chicken, beans, corn, green onion, tomatoes, and red pepper in large bowl stir to mix together
2. Mix together in a small bowl yogurt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder and stir together until blended together
3. Pour yogurt mixture over chicken and veggie mix and stir to combine well.

Stuffed peppers

All you need:
1 Ibs ground beef
1 Mrs. Dash taco seasoning
1 package frozen steam able rice
1 can rotel tomatoes and green chilies
1 Cup cheddar cheese
4 Bell pepper

All you do:
1. Brown ground beef in large skillet add taco seasoning according to package
2. Add rotel to ground beef, cook rice according to package.
3. Once rice is cooked add to beef mixture stir to combine.
4. Seed pepper and add taco mixture, top with sprinkle of cheese
5. Baked in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes

Cajun corn and kale salad

All you need:
1 bag frozen corn
1 large bunch of kale, stems removed
2 teaspoons salt for cooking the kale
1 large red bell pepper, diced
1 large green bell pepper, diced
1 large tomato, diced & seeded
1 small sweet onion, minced
1 large clove garlic, minced
¼ cup olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon fresh ground pepper
¼ teaspoon ground mustard
¼ teaspoon dried thyme

All you do:
1. Steam corn according to directions
2. Mix together corn, peppers, tomatoes, onion, and kale stirring to combine
3. Mix together in small bowl garlic, oil, lemon juice, salt, cayenne, pepper, mustard, and thyme
4. Pour mixture over corn and kale mixture, stirring to combine well.
