Former Nebraska Danger wide receiver Carl Sims is dead, per a tweet from the Indoor Football League.
Sims spent part of the 2017 with the Danger, signing with the team in April and being released in September.
In eight games, Sims recorded 22 receptions and three touchdowns. He was a two-time All-Pro and ranks second receiving yards in IFL history and third in total touchdowns.Sims also spent time with Sioux Falls, Green Bay and Spokane.
The Nebraska Danger released a statement stating, "The Nebraska Danger extends their deepest sympathies to the Carl Sims family at this difficult time. Carl was a standout with the team this past season."
