SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - A Scottsbluff man faces a felony charge for allegedly beating another man with a baseball bat.

Police responded to the area of 17th street and 2nd avenue Friday morning on a report of a man being beaten. Court documents say they arrived to find the victim bleeding -- with a gash and lump on his head from a blunt object.

The victim said he was hit with a bat and identified 46 year old Angel Cabral as a suspect. Police recovered a bat from the suspect's pickup and he was arrested for 2nd degree assault.

Cabral made his first appearance in Scotts Bluff County Court Monday. Bond was set at thirty thousand dollars.
